The conveyance can only be approved through an Act of Congress.\u00a0\nThe U.S. Forest Service has no objections to the land transfer, as Dolores County plays an active role in fire suppression efforts in the neighboring San Juan National Forest and a fire station would strengthen those efforts.\n\u201cFrequent and devastating wildfires have ravaged Western states, making it more vital than ever to ensure that every community is prepared for similar catastrophes,\u201d said Tipton. \u201cLocated on the border of the San Juan National Forest, Dolores County is in critical need of a fire station. I am proud to introduce legislation that will not only help to protect this national forest, but will also ensure the protection of private property and most importantly human lives.\u201d\nColorado U.S. Sens.
