The goal of the SSVF program is to promote housing stability among very low-income veteran families who reside in or are transitioning to permanent housing. The grant is the Department\u2019s fourth renewal of the annual program and has served some 1000 veterans each year.\n\u201cWe must provide all the support we can to local groups that are working day and night to end veteran homelessness,\u201d Rep. Titus said. \u201cThese funds will play a major role to help bring our heroes off the streets and provide a safe place for them to stay as they transition to long-term housing. No one who wore the uniform should lack a roof over his or her head.\u201d \u00a0 \u00a0\nThe grantees include: United States Veterans Initiative ($1,243,451), Vietnam Veterans of California Inc.
