Dina Titus of Nevada\u2019s First Congressional District announced a $2,135,648 Department of Justice grant to the Nevada Department of Public Safety for enhancing the criminal justice system in the state.\u00a0  \n\tThe funds come from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program and allow the Department of Public Safety to distribute the money to law enforcement and units of local government for a variety of projects. \u00a0Recipients can use the funds for youth resource officers, body cameras, training projects, behavioral health specialists, and crime-fighting task forces. The program also supports drug treatment programs, transitional housing for offenders, and counseling for adolescents.\n  \n\t\u201cAll Nevadans benefit when our communities work together to protect residents, assist law enforcement, and serve those who are at-risk or recovering from the past,\u201d Rep.
