Titus, local veterans and military members.\u00a0\nThe workshop will focus on resume building, transition of military skills, federal job applications, and job interviews. The workshop is part of a larger effort in the community to create more employment opportunities for Nevada\u2019s 7,000 unemployed veterans.\u00a0\n\u201cThe veteran unemployment rate is dropping, but 5.8 percent is still unacceptable,\u201d Rep. Titus said. \u201cWe must work together -- government agencies, community organizations, and private businesses -- to help our nation\u2019s heroes transition to civilian life and find good jobs that take advantage of and reward their training, skills, leadership qualities, and work ethic. In doing so, we will all benefit.\u201d\u00a0\nBackground:\u00a0\nAccording to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were 495,000 unemployed veterans in 2015 \u2013 with 7,000 residing in Nevada.
