Dina Titus of Nevada\u2019s First Congressional District issued the following statement after the U.S. Supreme Court decided to not rehear United States v. Texas, the obstructionist lawsuit preventing the Obama Administration from expanding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) initiative and creating the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans (DAPA) program. The Court, missing one justice, reached a tie decision on the case in June, blocking the implementation of the Obama Administration\u2019s efforts to keep families together.\n\u201cI am disappointed that the Supreme Court rejected the request by the Obama Administration,\u201d Rep. Titus said. \u201cFor years, millions of families have had to remain in the shadows because of the GOP\u2019s refusal to pass comprehensive immigration reform in Congress. Obstructionist Republicans have made the situation even worse with this politically driven lawsuit and by refusing to hold nomination hearings for Judge Garland in the Senate.
