Tokuda. \u201cI was humbled to stand with the many hands and hearts, past and present, who made this Peace Pole installation possible. It serves as a reminder of how far we have come, and the work we will do together to strive for a more peaceful and safe world.\u201d\n\n\u201cThere are fences of violence everywhere and those fences do nothing to build friendly and lasting relationships,\u201d said Sparky Rodrigues of M\u0101lama M\u0101kua. \u201cOur job is to remind the people of Hawai\u02bbi that building relationships is better than building fences.
