Elchin of Hookstown, Beaver County:\n\"It is with heavy hearts we learned today that Air Force Staff Sergeant Dylan Elchin was killed while serving our country in Afghanistan. Those who served alongside Dylan recall his leadership in combat and dedication to the mission. He was a decorated airman having received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, and was a Distinguished Graduate of Airman Leadership School. Simply put, Dylan is a Pennsylvania hero. Kris and I mourn his loss, and are praying for his family in this difficult time. His sacrifice will not be forgotten.\"\nStaff Sergeant Elchin died November 27, 2018 from injuries sustained when his vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device in Ghazni Province, Afghanistan.
