Today\u2019s lawsuit, unveiled on the heels of another scathing report about Meta\u2019s failure to protect younger users on Instagram, is another act of desperation. It\u2019s a ploy pulled from their tired playbook that promises safety improvements publicly but deploys dark money and shady tactics to maintain the status quo that has delivered multibillion dollar profits.\u201d\n\n\u201cI commend the Federal Trade Commission, which under Chair Khan and Commissioners Slaughter and Bedoya, has breathed life into the agency\u2019s mission to protect American consumers from harms like those posed on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and others.
