This data helps us spot when storms are getting stronger fast \u2014 what experts call \u2018rapid intensification.\u2019 That kind of warning can save lives.\n\n\u201cAs a proud member of the Homeland Security Committee, with direct oversight of FEMA, and as Co-Chair of the Congressional Resilience and Recovery Caucus, I am appalled.\n\n\u201cThis isn\u2019t just some policy debate in Washington.
