Beavercreek Township, the City of Dayton, and the City of Trotwood, all located in Congressman Turner\u2019s district, were allocated funds under the Department of Homeland Security\u2019s Fiscal Year 2023 Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) Program. Recipients are eligible to direct these funds toward operations and safety, vehicle acquisition, and regional projects.\n\n\u201cThe Miami Valley\u2019s firefighters and EMTs put the safety of our community members above their own, and they deserve every resource made available by the federal government,\u201d said Congressman Mike Turner. \u201cSupporting our first responders has been a top priority of mine since my time as Mayor of Dayton, and I will continue to advocate in Washington for our community\u2019s finest.\u201d\n\nFY23 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program Awards:\n\nBeavercreek Township: $330,909.09\n\nCity of Dayton: $58,909.09\n\nCity of Trotwood: $42,272.72\n\nTotal Funding Secured for Local Fire Departments: $432,090.90\n\nBackground:\n\nAFG awards are administered by the Department of Homeland Security\u2019s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Fire Administration.
