Xenia Township and New Jasper Township, both located in Turner\u2019s district, were allocated funds under the Department of Homeland Security\u2019s Fiscal Year 2023 Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) Program.\n\n\u201cXenia and its surrounding townships are home to many of the Miami Valley\u2019s finest first responders, and the tremendous sacrifices that they make for our community do not go unnoticed,\u201d said Congressman Mike Turner. \u201cI am pleased that the Department of Homeland Security has awarded these funds to support our firefighters, and I will continue my advocacy for the Miami Valley\u2019s fire and EMS departments.\u201d\n\nFY23 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program Awards:\n\nXenia Township: $226,037.14\n\nNew Jasper Township: $52,714.28\n\nTotal Funding Secured for Local Fire Departments: $278,751.42\n\nBackground:\n\nAFG awards are administered by the Department of Homeland Security\u2019s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Fire Administration.
