The City of Dayton, the City of Riverside and the City of Brookville, all located in Turner\u2019s district, were allocated funds under the Department of Homeland Security\u2019s Fiscal Year 2023 Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) Program.\n\n\u201cI cannot think of more deserving first responders to be awarded this federal funding than those located right here in our own community,\u201d said Congressman Mike Turner. \u201cI am pleased to continue advocating for increased funding for some of the bravest and most courageous individuals among us. The allocated funds, awarded by the Department of Homeland Security, will be a great asset to these departments.\u201d\n\nFY23 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program Awards:\n\nCity of Dayton: $326,406.67\n\nCity of Riverside: $78,792.72\n\nCity of Brookville: $34,857.14\n\nTotal Funding Secured for Local Fire Departments: $440,056.53\n\nBackground:\n\nAFG awards are administered by the Department of Homeland Security\u2019s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Fire Administration.
