Reauthorizing the Historic Preservation Fund has been a priority of mine this Congress. I am pleased it has passed both chambers and is headed to the President\u2019s desk for his signature.\"\nHistoric Preservation Fund (HPF):\nCreated in 1976, the Fund derives its funding from Outer Continental Shelf leases rather than taxpayer dollars. The HPF achieves its preservation mission of documenting, preserving and utilizing America\u2019s legacy of historic sites by providing funding to State and Tribal Historic Preservation Offices and through, at times, competitive grants to identify and rehabilitate historic resources.
