Valadao (CA-22) released the following statement condemning the unprovoked attacks by Hamas terrorists on the Democratic Jewish State of Israel. Today, Congressman Valadao joined House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (TX-10) in introducing a bipartisan resolution standing with Israel and its right to defend itself.\n\n\u201cI stand with our friend and ally Israel as they defend themselves against unprovoked attacks by Hamas terrorists,\u201d said Congressman Valadao. \u201cThe stories and pictures coming out of Israel are devastating, and I am heartbroken at the loss of American lives and hundreds of Israeli citizens at the hands of Iran-backed terrorists. The United States will continue to stand with our strongest ally in the Middle East. We must immediately elect a Speaker of the House so Congress can act swiftly to provide Israel with any additional resources they need.\u201d\n\nThe resolution shows support for Israel by expressing that Congress:\n\nStands with Israel as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and other terrorists;\n\nReaffirms Israel\u2019s right to self-defense;\n\nCondemns Hamas\u2019 brutal war on Israel;\n\nCalls on all countries to unequivocally condemn Hamas\u2019 brutal war on Israel;\n\nCalls on Hamas to immediately cease these violent attacks and safely release all living hostages and return the bodies of deceased hostages;\n\nMourns the over 900 Israelis killed and over 2,000 others wounded in Hamas\u2019 unprovoked attack on Israel;\n\nReaffirms the United States\u2019 commitment to Israel\u2019s security, including through security assistance in line with the 2016 U.S.-Israel Memorandum of Understanding;\n\nUrges full enforcement of the Taylor Force Act and other restrictions in U.S. law to prevent United States foreign assistance from benefiting terrorists, directly or indirectly;\n\nCondemns Iran\u2019s support for terrorist groups and proxies, including Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad;\n\nUrges full enforcement of U.S. sanctions against Iran to prevent Iran\u2019s funding of terrorist groups including Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad; and,\n\nStands ready to assist Israel with emergency resupply and other security, diplomatic, and intelligence support.", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-08T00:49:26Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://valadao.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=888"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.7119431868195534, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
