Construction trades included under these grants include carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, and other in-demand fields.\n\nEnhancing New Mexico\u2019s stock of affordable housing remains a top priority for Rep. Vasquez. He recently introduced legislation to crack down on greedy, out-of-state landlords and protect mobile home residents from predatory price increases with his Keep Mobile Homes Affordable Act.\n\nThis also builds on the Congressman\u2019s ongoing work to make housing accessible for every New Mexican through the HOME Act, which addresses the housing crisis by allowing the HUD Secretary to prohibit sales or rentals at unjustified and inflated prices when appropriate, the Bipartisan Homeownership Opportunity Act, which offers tax credits to first time homebuyers afford their downpayment and to builders for constructing starter homes, and the Revitalizing Downtowns and Main Streets Act, which provides a 20% tax credit to incentivize the conversion of empty commercial real estate into housing units.\n\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-06T19:10:29Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://vasquez.house.gov/media/press-releases/rep-vasquez-champions-construction-trade-training-tackle-housing-affordability"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.8480618707835674, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
