Gabe Vasquez's (NM-02) membership to the bipartisan Agricultural Labor Working Group. The working group will focus on the workforce issues faced by the nation\u2019s agricultural producers.\n\n\u201cI\u2019m focused on continuing to build relationships with our producers and farm workers, so those that put food on our tables have a secure future in New Mexico,\u201d said Vasquez. \u201cI have heard from New Mexican farmers who face crucial labor shortages, and for some, were only able to get through the season because of the H-2A program. That\u2019s why I introduced the bipartisan Farm Workforce Support Act to pave a pathway for the H-2A visa reform. I\u2019ve also heard from domestic farmworkers and immigrant rights organizations who see a common path forward to address our nation\u2019s labor shortages. I am proud to serve on the working group, to fight for solutions for New Mexico and our nation\u2019s agriculture workforce challenges.\u201d\n\nMembers of the working group have been selected from current Committee members and aim to represent every sector and geographical region of American agriculture.\n\nThe working group will:\n\nSeek input from stakeholders, employers, and workers, particularly emphasizing the H-2A visa program for nonimmigrant agricultural workers.\n\nProduce an interim report detailing the program's shortcomings and the impacts on food security.\n\nFile a final report with recommendations to address the flaws within the program.\n\nThe final report of the working group will provide a comprehensive suite of potential solutions that can inform and be utilized in subsequent legislative efforts.", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-08T00:08:25Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://vasquez.house.gov/media/press-releases/vasquez-takes-leadership-role-bipartisan-agriculture-group-address-labor"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 3.796141128987074, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
