Greg Walden (R-Hood River), met with EPA Administrator Pruitt today in Congressman Walden's Washington, D.C. office. The two discussed environmental\u00a0and economic issues important to both the nation and the\u00a0people of the\u00a0State of Oregon.  \n\t\u00a0  \n\t\u201cI appreciated the opportunity to meet with Congressman Walden today and discuss the issues important to our nation and to the people of Oregon,\u201d said Administrator Pruitt. \u201cThe people of Oregon and their elected representatives deserve an EPA that is focused on the basics of protecting the environment, engaging with state and local partners, and ensuring sensible regulations for economic growth.\u201d\u201cAdministrator Pruitt and I had a productive conversation today about the wide-ranging issues facing Oregonians,\u201d said Congressman Walden. \u201cWe discussed the need to ensure water quality standards don\u2019t bankrupt rural communities, a concern I heard about at town hall meetings in Ontario, Oregon, and the latest with the Portland Harbor Superfund plan.\u201cWe can protect the clean air and water we enjoy in Oregon, without further burdening jobs and economic growth in our rural communities.
