Greg Walden (R-Hood River) has been named a \u201cGuardian of Small Business\u201d by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). Walden received this award for his outstanding voting record in the U.S. House on behalf of Oregon\u2019s small businesses.\u00a0\n\u201cAs a small business owner with my wife for over two decades, I understand what it means to risk everything to grow your business and create jobs. Now, I\u2019m committed to cutting the unnecessary red tape that stands in the way of growth for so many small businesses in Oregon and across the country. After all, we should be focused on making things easier for small business owners and local job creators, not harder. Walden is one of the most reliable advocates for small business in Washington.\u201d\nNFIB is made up of small businesses nationwide, including over 7,000 in Oregon. According to the Oregon Secretary of State, small businesses employ more than half of Oregon\u2019s workforce and make up 98% of the state\u2019s total businesses.\nThe Guardian of Small Business is NFIB\u2019s most prestigious award.\u00a0 It is reserved for lawmakers who vote consistently with NFIB on the key issues identified by small business owners.\u00a0 NFIB tracks the votes of every member of Congress.
