Mario D\u00edaz-Balart (R-FL), Adriano Espaillat (D-NY), and Tony Gonzales (R-TX), and the co-chair of the Congressional Colombia Caucus Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX), in issuing the following statement in response to recent diplomatic actions taken by Chile, Colombia, and Bolivia:\n\n\"We are appalled by the decision of the Governments of Chile and Colombia to recall their Ambassadors from Israel and Bolivia's unilateral suspension of diplomatic relations with Israel. We concur with the Israeli governments assessment that these decisions mark \"a surrender to terrorism and to the Ayatollah's regime in Iran.\"\n\n\"The United States Congress and the American people strongly support Israel's right to defend itself, as do the overwhelming majority of Latin American Jews, who have condemned the use of antisemitic rhetoric and incitement of violence by Colombian President Petro, Chilean President Boric, and Bolivian President Arce.
