Sherrod Brown would provide common rules for all 50 states.
“We want our employees to spend their time in valueadded activities. We would rather our accounting team work on helping to grow our business than to track all the different state reporting requirements,” said Mike Kenney, president and CEO of Norwalk Furniture.
Brown, D-Ohio, and John Thune, R-S.D., introduced the Mobile Workforce State Income Tax Simplification Act.
The bill is designed to impose a uniform rule in all states. A person or an employer who temporarily heads to another state for a job would not owe taxes, unless the stay is 30 days or more.
“This common-sense legislation will help simplify and standardize tax filing for employees and employers that conduct business in multiple states,” Brown said.
To read the full article, please click the source link below:

 Brown bill would simplify taxes »", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at
url
https://web.archive.org/web/20140221020759/http://www.brown.senate.gov/newsroom/in-the-news/article/brown-bill-would-simplify-taxes
