It is estimated that one in five adults experience a mental illness in any given year. While most mental illnesses are treatable, those with mental illness too often cannot access needed treatment if they do not have health insurance that covers mental health services. Starting in 2014, insurers will not be able to deny coverage or charge individuals more due to pre-existing conditions, including mental illnesses.  \u00a0  Helping our families and businesses take advantage of the benefits of the health care law, like expanded mental health and substance use disorder benefits, is priority for Tammy in making the Affordable Care Act work for Wisconsin.", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://web.archive.org/web/20140221034521/http://www.baldwin.senate.gov/blog/the-affordable-care-act-strengthens-mental-health-and-substance-use-disorder-coverage"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.7747930940240622, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
