Thompson (MS-02) announced that he has partnered with the Jackson-Hinds Comprehensive Health Center to host an Affordable Care Jubilee on October 4, 2013. The goal of the event is to educate and assist the constituency on enrollment in the marketplace and will feature Dr. Pamela Roshell, Regional Director of Health and Human Services.\nEach day, I strive to change the picture of health in Mississippi. Over 500,000 Mississippians between the ages of 18 and 64 are uninsured. We must take advantage of every opportunity to educate and enroll our population. I encourage Mississippians to come out on October 4thto learn more about the benefits of the Affordable Care Act and to enroll themselves and their families, said Thompson.\nBeginning October 1, 2013, consumers in all states will be able to choose new, affordable health insurance coverage through a new Health Insurance Marketplace through the Affordable Care Act.
