This bill ensures that states who have taken it upon themselves to help out, and reopen our treasured landscapes, are compensated fairly.\u201d\n\u00a0\n\u201cThe House is working to reboot the federal programs that are most important to Americans,\u201d Pearce continued.\u00a0 \u201cIn just the last few days, I have joined with my colleagues in the House to pass legislation that pays our National Guard and Reserve, protects Headstart and nutrition programs for low-income children and families, and funds agencies important to the safety of Americans, like the FAA, FEMA, and the FDA.\u00a0 I urge my colleagues in the Senate to put American families before politics, and join the House in rebooting the programs we can all agree on.\u201d\n\u00a0\nThis morning, Pearce voted for a bill to protect national security and New Mexico jobs by providing immediate funding for the National Nuclear Security Administration, which provides critical funding to our nation\u2019s labs, including Sandia and Los Alamos.\u00a0 Yesterday, Pearce voted for H.R. 79, the Border Safety and Security Act, which provides immediate funding for border safety operations through the shutdown.\u00a0 Both bills passed the House.\n\u00a0\nWednesday, the House voted 425-0 to pass a bill that ensures death benefits will continue to be disbursed to families of fallen troops during the partial government shutdown.\u00a0 While the Senate followed the House\u2019s lead and passed the bill, the Senate has failed to pass at least thirteen other pieces of legislation\u2014passed by the House with strong bipartisan support\u2014to restore key functions of the federal government and reduce the impact of the shutdown for American families.\u00a0 Bipartisan bills to pay members of the National Guard and Reserve, to fund nutrition assistance programs for low-income women and children, and to provide immediate funding for critical veterans\u2019 benefits and services have all been blocked by the Senate and met with veto threats from the President.\n\u00a0\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://web.archive.org/web/20140221081356/http://pearce.house.gov/press-release/pearce-house-working-reboot-america"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.5373679343611002, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
