Murphy VA Medical Center in Albuquerque, where they met with VA Hospital Director George Marnell, toured the facilities, and discussed issues facing New Mexico\u2019s veterans.\u00a0 Later this afternoon, Pearce and Miller will meet with veterans in Roswell regarding the creation of a veterans\u2019 cemetery in the area.\u00a0 At 2:00, Pearce and Miller will hold an open forum at the Roswell Veterans\u2019 Memorial Hall for local veterans to discuss ideas or concerns.\u00a0 Pearce and Miller will also meet with Roswell Mayor Del Jurney and NMDVS Secretary Timothy Hale.\n\u201cIt is of the utmost importance that our veterans are given the care and treatment they deserve,\u201d said Pearce.\u00a0 \u201cMy office is committed to continuing its work with local VA leadership to improve care and communicate on behalf of our veterans.\u00a0 I am glad to have Chairman Miller joining me, so that he can better understand the issues faced by New Mexico\u2019s veterans as we work to find solutions in Washington.\u201d\nPearce, himself a Vietnam veteran, has made veterans\u2019 issues a priority throughout his time in Congress.\u00a0 He voted this summer to provide $7.7 billion dollars in new funding for PTSD treatment for veterans, and introduced the HEALTHY Vets Act, a bill to help improve the accessibility, convenience, and affordability of health care for veterans.\u00a0 Pearce has hosted more than ten veterans\u2019 town hall meetings throughout New Mexico\u2019s Second Congressional District.\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://web.archive.org/web/20140221090640/http://pearce.house.gov/press-release/pearce-chairman-miller-discuss-veterans%E2%80%99-issues"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 2.5670200120657682, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
