As a visionary leader he strived to eliminate racism, poverty and inequality within South Africa.\u00a0\nMandela will be remembered as being the \u201cfather of democracy\u201d in South Africa and as a leader who always put his country ahead of himself; his legacy will live on in the hearts through his charitable funds and foundations.\nI join the people of South Africa, along with others around the world, in honoring the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela- and in doing so, offer my sincerest condolences to his family and his country.\n \n###\nCongressman Mike Fitzpatrick is serving his third term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He represents Pennsylvania\u2019s 8th\u00a0district which includes all of Bucks County as well as a portion of Montgomery County.
