Wilson (FL-24) announced today that iconic civil and human rights activist Congressman John Lewis (GA-5) will visit Booker T. Washington Senior High School to share with students his experiences during the Civil Rights Movement. Congressman Lewis\u2019s visit will take place at 9:00 a.m. Friday, November 22, 2013. The school is located at 1200 NW 6th Avenue, in Miami. Congresswoman Wilson and Congressman Lewis are longtime friends and were classmates at Fisk University during the Civil Rights Movement. \n \n\tAfter meeting with students at the high school, Congressman Lewis will become an honorary member of the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project, a comprehensive drop-out prevention and \u00a0mentoring program for at-risk boys in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. \n \n\t\u201cIt is an honor to have an American hero like Congressman John Lewis visit Booker T. Washington Senior High School to speak to students and to share his experiences in the struggle for civil and human rights. \n \n\t\u00a0\u201cFor half a century, he has been an extraordinary role model for millions.\u00a0 As he shares his wisdom and life\u2019s lessons with students at Booker T.
