Sewell (AL-07) released the following statement applauding Mercedes-Benz as it celebrates the production launch of the redesigned 2015 C-Class at its Tuscaloosa County plant. This 2 billion dollar investment into Alabama\u2019s economy will create 1,000 new jobs in Central and West Alabama.  \u201cI applaud Mercedes-Benz for continuing its commitment to creating jobs and economic opportunity in Tuscaloosa County with the production of the new C-Class Sedan,\u201d said Rep. Sewell. \u201cFor more than 20 years, Mercedes-Benz has maintained a vibrant presence in Vance and I am proud that the company has given Alabama\u2019s workforce yet another vote of confidence. It is clear that Alabama\u2019s thriving workforce can compete with any in the world. The 1,000 jobs that will be added to Mercedes-Benz\u2019s workforce will deliver real economic opportunities for families in Tuscaloosa County and surrounding counties.
