Since then, we continued our work to reform the VA and get veterans the care they deserve. This month, we released our Veterans Resource Guide,\u00a0a comprehensive information source on services available to veterans and their families.\u00a0In Arizona, we are also working hard to create high-tech, high-wage Arizona manufacturing jobs, protect Medicare, and combat sexual assault at schools like ASU. We highlight these and other efforts in this month's newsletter.We will keep you updated as we continue our work on these and other issues that matter to Arizona's Ninth Congressional District. To meet this need, we produced our \"Veteran Resource Guide for Congressional District 9,\" a\u00a0comprehensive 27-page source\u00a0for services available to veterans and their families, such as mental health treatment, financial assistance, employment resources, and housing, and the most up to date contact information for resource providers.Click Here to download the Veteran Resource Guide.In Washington, the House Veterans Affairs Committee passed our veterans mental health bill (H.R. 3387). For the past year, we worked closely with the parents of Sgt. Daniel Somers \u2013 a veteran from our district who took his own life after the Phoenix VA failed to provide him with the care he needed \u2013\u00a0to pass these crucial reforms to the VA system.Click here to learn more about this bill.\u00a0 \nMeeting with the Mesa Community College Military Students Alliance\n The Violence Against Women Act's 20th Anniversary\n\u00a0\n Saturday, September 13 marked the 20th anniversary of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), which protects millions of women and their families from domestic and sexual violence. In January 2013, we led the fight to reauthorize VAWA and strengthen its protections for Arizona women and their families.In honor of VAWA's 20th anniversary, we announced our co-sponsorship of the Campus Accountability and Safety Act, which empowers sexual assault survivors and protects men and women on college campuses in Arizona.This bipartisan legislation\u00a0establishes new campus resources and support services for student survivors, ensures minimum training standards for on-campus personnel, and creates new historic transparency requirements.\u00a0Click here to learn more about this bill.\n Arizona Coalition Against Domestic Violence, one of our partners in the fight to reauthorize VAWA\nIn May, we passed an amendment increasing funding for campus sexual assault grant programs.\nOur Team is Here for You\nOur office regularly hosts Mobile Office Hours, where our trained and dedicated team members assist residents of Congressional District 9 with any problems with federal agencies that you may have. \nThese events are free and open to the public.
