The announcement follows Sinema\u2019s July letter in support of ASU\u2019s request for the grant.\n\u201cEarning a college degree is critical in today\u2019s economy. Everyone who works hard and wants to pursue a college education should have the opportunity to do so,\u201d said Sinema. \u201cThis vital investment allows ASU to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for students and families.\u201d\n\u201cArizona State University has nationally competitive and innovative researchers,\u201d said ASU President Michael Crow. \u201cIn just the past few days our Mary Lou Fulton College of Education researchers have won a total of $16.5 million in competitively awarded grants through three different programs within the Department of Education, including the First in the World program.
