Tempe Mayor Mark Mitchell, Councilmembers Robin Arredondo-Savage and Corey Woods, the Phoenix VA, Maricopa Integrated Health System (MIHS), and the East Valley Veterans Education Center co-hosted the event with Congresswoman Sinema.\n\u201cIf anyone deserves to be given the best care and treated with the utmost respect, it\u2019s our veterans,\u201d said Sinema. \u201cThe Veterans Healthcare, Benefits and Resources Clinic was a one-stop shop where veterans and their families received personal assistance and information on resources and benefits they have earned.\u201d\n\u201cThe importance of ensuring that our veterans have what they need to be successful cannot be understated,\u201d said Tempe Mayor Mark Mitchell.\u00a0 \u201cWhen a veteran cannot find the services they need, whether that be healthcare, benefits, or an education, we all suffer.\u00a0 Organizing this event is further proof of Representative Sinema's commitment to our veterans.\u201d\n\u201cI'm appreciative of Congresswoman Sinema's support in working with Tempe to host this Veterans Resource Clinic,\u201d said Councilmember Corey Woods. \u201cThis one-day event offers veterans and their families a connection to the services that are important to their well-being. I'm grateful we're able to provide them support.\u201d\n\u201cAs a U.S. Army Veteran myself, I truly believe that we need to do everything we can to ensure that veterans and their families receive the support and resources they need,\u201d said Councilmember Robin Arredondo-Savage.\nThe event provided detailed information and one-on-one assistance from 31 organizations and VA programs. Veterans had access to a variety of services, including signing up for medical care, one-on-one advising from VA benefits eligibility advisers, and information on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
