Sinema, with other members of the Arizona Congressional delegation, sent a letter to the President urging him to swiftly approve Governor Brewer\u2019s request.\n\u201cArizonans suffered as a result of this historic flooding, and it\u2019s critical that communities affected by the storms get the assistance they need,\u201d said Sinema. \u201cThis declaration will enable our state to rebuild and prepare for future emergencies.\u201d\nFederal assistance will be available through the Public Assistance Program and the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. The Public Assistance Program will provide assistance for emergency work and the repair or replacement of disaster-damaged facilities in La Paz and Maricopa Counties. The Hazard Mitigation Grant Program will provide grants to communities statewide to implement long-term disaster mitigation measures.\nIn October, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) approved Governor Brewer\u2019s request for a Physical Disaster Declaration for Maricopa County. Individuals, non-profits, and businesses looking to access disaster assistance should click here.
