Peter Welch (D-Vt.) is currently presenting 10 paintings in his Burlington office by local artist Candy Barr. The exhibit is entitled \u201cVermont & Maine: Paintings on Location.\u201d\nBarr graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with both a BFA in Painting and a MAT in Lithography, and also earned a MFA from Vermont College.\u00a0Her work has been described as \u201cmoving\" and as being \"a true master of color.\"\u00a0 From Warren since 1976, with over 50 years of painting experience from models and working on locations in plein air,\u00a0she brings a breadth of knowledge of art history, exquisite skill for color and a deep understanding of what makes paint come to life.\u00a0\u00a0\n\u201cI\u2019m pleased to be able to recognize talented Vermont artists like Candy by featuring their work in my Vermont office,\u201d said Rep. Welch. \u201cI hope Vermonters will take the opportunity to visit my office and enjoy these works of art.\u201d\n\"Making paintings brings me great pleasure while the unsettled world today contributes to my desire to seek comfort in nature,\u201d said Barr.\u00a0\u201cI am most comfortable while intensely observing my environment and during the mindful processes of painting it.\" \nThe exhibit will be on display through the end of April 2018. The public is invited to Barr\u2019s work.\u00a0 Welch\u2019s Vermont office is located at the Vermont Innovation Center at 128 Lakeside Avenue, Suite 235 in Burlington.
