I\u2019m very proud to see the House pass my bill, the DUMP Red Tape Act, to give small business owners a direct line to make their voices heard, report unnecessary regulations, and ensure those complaints are documented and reviewed so Congress can take action.\u201d\n\nThe DUMP Red Tape Act will create a dedicated hotline for small business owners to report overly burdensome or unnecessary federal regulations to the Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Advocacy.\n\nBackground: During the last four years, the United States saw an unprecedented surge in federal regulations instituted under the Biden Administration. A 2024 report by the House Committee on Oversight found that the Biden Administration added an astonishing $1.7 trillion in new regulatory costs during their time in office. This added over 300 million regulatory paperwork hours, created unnecessary hurdles for small business owners to overcome, and made it more difficult to maintain and grow their businesses. The Trump Administration and House Republicans are committed to working to remove red tape and ease the burden on small businesses and consumers.\n\nThe DUMP Red Tape Act directs the Chief Counsel for Advocacy at the Small Business Administration (SBA) to create a \u201cRed Tape Hotline,\u201d that will be accessible via email, web form, or phone.
