Today\u2019s package completes our unfinished business by tackling trade barriers, strengthening broadband connectivity, and supporting research and development.\u201d\n\nCongressman Womack continued, \u201cThanks to the efforts of the Arkansas congressional delegation, we secured language allowing SNAP beneficiaries to purchase hot rotisserie chicken\u2014providing a nutritious food option that is currently prohibited under existing law. I am also pleased to see that this legislation fixes California\u2019s left-wing Proposition 12 by clarifying that states and localities cannot impose unreasonable livestock production standards on producers across the country. America\u2019s agricultural producers and rural families deserve commonsense solutions and certainty, and this legislation delivers exactly that.\u201d\n\nMore bill highlights:\n\nStrengthens American farmers and rural communities by:\n\nIncreasing funding for the Market Access Program (MAP) and Foreign Market Development Program (FMD) to support enhanced market access and trade promotion.\n\nStrengthening Rural Broadband Program loans and grants to support increased broadband service to underserved rural communities.\n\nReauthorizing crucial USDA Rural Development business and grant programs.\n\nReauthorizing the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative and other grant programs that advance cutting-edge research and technology at our Land Grant Universities.\n\nThe bill text is available HERE.\n\nCongressman Steve Womack (AR-3) has represented Arkansas\u2019s Third Congressional District since 2011.
