{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["https://www.baldwin.senate.gov/press-releases/roundtable-veterans-and-simcakoski-family", "U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin and Representative Gus Bilirakis Host Roundtable with Veterans Care Stakeholders and Simcakoski Family", "2016-11-30", "2016", "2016-11", "Democrat", "House", "WI", "Tammy Baldwin", "B001230", "www.baldwin.senate.gov", null, null, "legacy", "11.30.16\n\t\t\t U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin and Representative Gus Bilirakis Host Roundtable with Veterans Care Stakeholders and Simcakoski Family \n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t In July, bipartisan VA reforms named after Wisconsin Marine veteran Jason Simcakoski were signed into law\u00a0by President Obama \r\n \u201cRealizing the Jason Simcakoski Memorial and Promise Act\u201d roundtable addresses the opioid crisis and quality pain care for veterans \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWASHINGTON, D.C. \u2013 Today, U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) and Representative Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) led a roundtable dialogue titled \u201cRealizing the Jason Simcakoski Memorial and Promise Act\u201d to address the opioid crisis and quality pain care for veterans.\r\nSenator Baldwin and Representative Bilirakis were joined by members of the Simcakoski family, as well as officials from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), The American Legion, American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).\r\nThe roundtable addressed veterans\u2019 opioid safety and pain management, including the implementation of the Jason Simcakoski Memorial and Promise Act that was signed into law in July as part of the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act.
