After reviewing the FBI's supplemental background investigation of sexual assault allegations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh, U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin released the following statement:\r\n\"It is clear to me that the White House and Senate Republicans stood inthe way of a full investigation of the credible allegations against this Supreme Court nominee by not allowing the FBI to interview Dr. Blasey Ford, Judge Kavanaugh and a number of witnesses who came forward publicly. My concerns that Judge Kavanaugh was hand-picked by powerful special interests and that he would overturn the law of the land on health care for people with pre-existing conditions and women's reproductive health have not changed. I am still not convinced that Judge Kavanaugh would serve as a fair, impartial and independent Supreme Court Justice.\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\n\t  \n\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t \n\t\t\n\t\t\tPrint\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tEmail\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\tTweet\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\n\t \n\t\n\t\n\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n    \n\t\n\t\n    \n    \n    \n    \t\n    \t\n\t    \t  \n\t\t    \n\t\t    \tNext Press Release\n\t\t    \n\t\t    \n\t\t    \tPrevious Press Release", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.baldwin.senate.gov/press-releases/us-senator-tammy-baldwin-statement-on-fbi-background-investigation-of-judge-brett-kavanaugh"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.6119228675961494, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
