With the passage of the bipartisan National Defense Authorization Act, our troops will receive a well-deserved pay raise and will have the tools they need to continue to protect our nation and our allies. This bill also includes provisions to reimburse states for fire suppression costs, and to provide funding for important projects at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne.\r\n\u201cOn the Bells of Balangiga, we can thank Congresswoman Cheney for her amendment to protect the memorial. While Senate conferees weakened her amendment in conference, it was only because of her leadership that the bill retains some protection against their removal.
