{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["https://www.blackburn.senate.gov/2026/7/blackburn-sounds-the-alarm-on-communist-china-s-infiltration-of-american-judiciary", "Blackburn Sounds the Alarm on Communist China\u2019s Infiltration of American Judiciary", "2026-07-23", "2026", "2026-07", "Republican", "Senate", "TN", "Marsha Blackburn", "B001243", "www.blackburn.senate.gov", "blackburn", "https://www.blackburn.senate.gov/news/cc8c80c1-d564-4bbb-93a4-f1d772346ae0", "scraper", "\u201cAccording to the national security organization State Armor, over the course of three decades, \u2018ELI\u2019s work has uniformly advanced Chinese strategic and national security interests while undermining American national security . . . and simultaneously pushing America toward dependence upon energy sources dominated by the PRC.\u2019 In 2018, that very same group launched its Climate Judiciary Project \u2018in coordination with the [Federal Judicial Center] . . . in response to demand from the judiciary for education about climate science.\u2019 While the stated goal was to provide \u2018neutral, objective information to the judiciary,\u2019 it\u2019s clear that ELI\u2019s goal was to \u2018make judges more receptive to climate litigation\u2019 and, even more troubling, \u2018target\u2019 judges in states \u2018where [climate] cases were being brought.\u2019 The substance of CJP\u2019s programming is equally as concerning. According to State Armor\u2019s report, CJP\u2019s materials instruct judges on how to \u2018frame\u2019 climate change matters and \u2018influence colleagues who may be \u201copposed to action on climate change.\u201d\u2019 The CJP programming also includes material that has little to do with standard continuing legal education content, including lesson plans on \u2018implicit bias\u2019 and \u2018Resistance to Change.\u2019 Critically, according to the report, the majority of CJP\u2019s materials were \u2018created by scholars who have called for liability for oil and gas companies,\u2019 including a scholar who has labeled the oil and gas industry as \u2018diabolical.\u2019\u201d\n\nELI Lesson Plans Steer Judges to Rule in Favor of Far-Left Climate Lobby, Threatening Judicial Independence", 1, "2026-07-24T07:30:11Z", "2026-07-24T07:31:13Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.blackburn.senate.gov/2026/7/blackburn-sounds-the-alarm-on-communist-china-s-infiltration-of-american-judiciary"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.270580803975463, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
