This investment in the East Locust Creek Reservoir Project\r\nis great news for families, farmers, and local businesses, said Blunt. These\r\nadditional resources will get us one step closer to finishing the project and\r\nbringing an end to the severe water shortages that have disrupted businesses\r\nand daily life in the area. Improving water infrastructure and reliability\r\nwill, in turn, create a stronger foundation for economic development in the\r\nyears to come. I am committed to ensuring that the federal government continues\r\nto make this project a priority. The East Locust Creek Reservoir service area includes\r\nMercer, Putnam, Schuyler, Grundy, Sullivan, Adair, Livingston, Linn, Macon, and\r\nChariton counties. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Blunt\r\nhas led efforts to secure resources for the East Locust Creek Reservoir Project\r\nin the FY2016, FY2017, FY2018, FY2019, and FY2020 government funding bills. The\r\nrecently-released FY2021 Senate agriculture appropriations bill includes $12\r\nmillion in additional funding. In October, Blunt commended USDA Rural\r\nDevelopment for awarding a $3 million grant and $5 million loan to modernize\r\nequipment at the East Locust Creek water treatment plant. Blunt was in Milan\r\nlast year when USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service announced that the\r\nproject received an additional $5.6 million, which was included in the\r\nBlunt-backed FY2019 funding bill. Following Blunt's advocacy, the Department of Transportation\r\nawarded a $13.5 million BUILD Grant to the East Locust Creek Reservoir Project\r\nin November 2019. In August 2018, Blunt announced that the USDA invested $20million in the project to prepare the dam's site, access corridors, and other\r\nkey infrastructure for the next phase of construction.", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.blunt.senate.gov/news/press-releases/blunt-announces-25-million-usda-investment-in-east-locust-creek-reservoir-project"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.9185629896819592, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
