Booker", "B001288", "www.booker.senate.gov", "booker", "https://www.booker.senate.gov/news/press", "scraper", "WASHINGTON, D.C. \u2013 In response to House Republicans releasing a partisan continuing resolution that fails to address Americans' most urgent concerns, U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) issued the following statement:\n\n\u201cTrump and Republicans have taken another step to advance a short-term government funding bill without any input from Democrats that fails to address Americans\u2019 most urgent concerns. I have heard from working families in New Jersey and across the country who are struggling with the fallout from President Trump and Republicans\u2019 failed policies. Americans\u2019 health care is in jeopardy, they\u2019re facing higher prices on everything from groceries to back-to-school supplies, and they\u2019re fed up with their tax dollars being used to give more handouts to the biggest corporations and the wealthiest few.\n\n\u201cAs I have said, I will not give away my vote to Trump to fund the government for nothing. Republicans control the White House and Congress\u2014but if they want to pass a bill through the Senate, they need to put forward a proposal that can earn bipartisan support.
