United States:

“One of our nation’s most foundational principles is that no person, regardless of their background or position, is above the law. It is absolutely appalling that the conservative majority on the Supreme Court undermined this shared value with its ruling today.

“As Justice Sotomayor said in her dissent, ‘the long-term consequences of today's decision are stark. The Court effectively creates a law-free zone around the President, upsetting the status quo that has existed since the Founding. This new official-acts immunity now 'lies about like a loaded weapon' for any President that wishes to place his own interests, his own political survival, or his own financial gain, above the interests of the Nation.’

“This decision is wrong on the merits and wrong for the nation.”", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-07T21:24:45Z
url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at
url
https://www.booker.senate.gov/news/press/booker-statement-on-supreme-court-decision-in-trump-immunity-case
