Americans are fed up with their tax dollars being used to give more handouts to the biggest corporations and the wealthiest few, but Republicans once again chose partisanship over American families and have driven us one step closer to a government shutdown in the process.

“Republicans control the White House, the Senate, and the House. If they want to earn my vote, they cannot continue to put forward proposals that continue to raise our costs, jeopardize our health care, and hurt the people of my state.”

See also:

NBC Meet the Press: Cory Booker Will Stand for Americans in the Face of a Government Shutdown

NJ Spotlight News: Rising cost of living worries residents — and Booker

The Bergen Record: As cost of back-to-school items rises, NJ's Cory Booker vows tough stance on spending bill

New Jersey Globe: With shutdown looming, Kim, Booker say they’re willing to block Republican funding bill.

###", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-06T19:10:29Z
url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at
url
https://www.booker.senate.gov/news/press/booker-statement-on-vote-to-keep-government-open-protect-new-jerseyans-health-care
