During the visit, Senator Booker toured the facility and highlighted his ongoing efforts to secure federal funding for the training center in order to enhance vital fire safety training for first responders. The facility will also directly improve safety within Hunterdon County by providing back-up countywide 911 services. The funding, pending Congressional passage of the FY24 federal budget, is for $3.192 million and will support the next phase of the Hunterdon County Emergency Services Training Center\u2019s expansion.\n\n\"The Hunterdon County Emergency Services Training Center plays an essential role in equipping our dedicated firefighters and emergency personnel with the skills they need to respond effectively to crises and keep our communities safe,\u201d said Senator Booker. \u201cI am working to secure vital funding for the Hunterdon County Emergency Services Training Center so we can bolster the capabilities of our first responders and enhance public safety for all residents in Hunterdon County.\"\n\n\u201cWe appreciate Senator Booker taking the time to visit the Hunterdon County Emergency Services Training Center and for his ongoing support for federal funding toward this important public safety project,\u201d said Hunterdon County Commissioner Deputy Director Jeff Kuhl. \u201cHunterdon County\u2019s Emergency Services Training Center provides numerous lifesaving training courses for not only local volunteer fire departments and EMS squads, but also for the surrounding region.
