We need to remember our history, and getting firsthand accounts is one of the best ways to help do that. My dad, who was a waist gunner on B-17s in World War II and served 23 years in the Air Force, didn\u2019t often talk of his experiences during the war and I wish I had asked more about that time in his life. My office is working to make sure that other families don\u2019t have this same regret. I\u2019m proud to support this endeavor and submit the interviews of Arkansas veterans for the benefit of future generations,\u201d Boozman said.\n\nIn 2000, Congress established the VHP to collect and retain the oral histories of our nation\u2019s veterans.\n\nBoozman\u2019s staff has conducted dozens of interviews and trained more than 1,200 Arkansans to participate and spread awareness about this initiative.
