Additionally, I championed measures to continue support for our Allies and partners, including Israel, Taiwan, and the Baltics. This appropriations package also follows through on our commitment to take care of our service members by giving junior enlisted a ten percent pay raise and providing a historic investment to improve Marine Corps barracks.\n\n\u201cNorth Carolina will greatly benefit from this funding package, from revitalizing our defense industrial base to prioritizing counterdrug operations. Our state will be more secure and prosperous because of these investments,\u201d said Senator Budd.\n\nBelow is a summary of provisions Senator Budd championed that were passed by Congress:\n\nADVANCING TECHNOLOGY\n\n$3M for Rare Earth Magnet Manufacturing\n\n$52.3M for Hypersonic Readiness Assessment Vehicle\n\n$5M for Advanced Manufacturing Technologies and Equipment for Supersonic Aircraft\n\n$16M for DIU OnRamp Hub Geographic Expansion\n\nSTANDING WITH OUR ALLIES\n\n$1B for weapons and training for Taiwan\n\n$342M for the Counter-ISIS Train and Equip Fund\n\nRestricts defense funds going to the Taliban\n\n$80M for U.S.-Israel Anti-tunneling Cooperation\n\n$75M for U.S.-Israel Counter-UAS Cooperation\n\n$47.5M for U.S.-Israel Emerging Technology Cooperation\n\n$500M for Israel Missile Defense programs\n\nMILITARY SERVICES\n\nAir Force\n\n$102M for F-15 radar and communication upgrades\n\n$213M for F-15 electronic warfare capabilities\n\n$18M for the Air Force Adaptive Threat Modeling Labs\n\n$115M for Air Force F-15EX Procurement\n\n$3.9B for Air Force Procurement of 24 new F-35s\n\n$277M for Air Force F-35 Upgrades\n\n$531M for Air Force F-35 Spares & Repair Parts\n\nArmy\n\n$25M for SOCOM Counter-UAS\n\n$4M for Army Pathfinder Airborne\n\n$246M for Army Infantry Squad Vehicles\n\n$47M for Army Heavy Duty Dump Truck\n\n$335M for Army Counter-UAS\n\n$175M for the Army\u2019s UH-60/AH-64 Improved Turbine Engine Program\n\n$360M for AH-64E Apache Procurement\n\n$2M for Expandable Single Pallet Expeditionary Kitchen & $10M for Field Containerized Kitchen Service Life Extension\n\nNavy & Marine Corps\n\n$6M for Navy Silicon Carbide Bi-directional Power Convertor\n\n$3.7B for Navy/Marine Corps Procurement of 23 new F-35s\n\n$381M for Navy/Marine Corps F-35 Upgrades\n\n$535M for Navy/Marine Corps F-35 Spares & Repair Parts\n\nDOD-Wide\n\n$20M for the Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration Program\n\nCIVIL AIR PATROL\n\n$57.9M for Civil Air Patrol Operations & Maintenance\n\n$17.8M for Civil Air Patrol Aircraft Procurement\n\n$3.3M for Civil Air Patrol Vehicle Procurement\n\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-06T17:26:08Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.budd.senate.gov/2026/02/04/senator-budd-releases-statement-after-congress-passes-fy26-funding-for-the-department-of-defense/"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.2730960734188557, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
