Mac Thornberry National Defense Reauthorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2021. This bipartisan, bicameral legislation, which has been passed for 60 consecutive years, protects American national security interests, enhances Congressional oversight, and prioritizes service members and their families.\r\nSenator Richard Burr (R-NC), who voted in favor of the Conference Agreement, applauded the Senate's passage.\r\nProviding a strong national defense is one of the most important responsibilities Congress has,said Senator Burr.This year's defense spending bill is as important as ever. As we continue to counter aggression from our adversaries and face the unprecedented challenges of a global pandemic, our service members need the right resources and strategic direction to continue protecting American interests. This bipartisan legislation provides that by rebuilding and modernizing our Armed Forces, enhancing our competitive edge against China and Russia, and prioritizing the needs of military families.\r\nI'm pleased to support this critical funding bill. By strengthening our national defense now, we ensure that American national security interests are protected for years to come.\r\nBackground:\r\nThe Conference Agreement for the NDAA for Fiscal Year 2021 passed the Senate by a vote of 84-13.
