{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["https://www.carper.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/e-newsletter?ContentRecord_id=46dbfcb5-4847-489e-8f33-0cde0b01d377", "Lights, Camera, Action in the First State", "2014-10-10", "2014", "2014-10", "Democrat", "House", "DE", "Thomas Carper", "C000174", "www.carper.senate.gov", null, null, "legacy", "Dear Friends,\r\nThis week I had the opportunity to visit two of Delmarva\u2019s television stations, WMDT and WBOC.\u00a0I hope many of you had a chance to see the resulting stories, in which\u00a0I\u00a0discussed\u00a0a number of salient issues facing Delawareans and Americans across the country and around the world today.\r\nMy first stop was at WMDT, where I had the chance to sit down with Lenita Wesson and discuss the importance of long-term transportation funding and comprehensive postal reform.\u00a0It\u2019s critical that Congress bypasses partisan gridlock and passes both a\u00a0long-term transportation plan that our states, cities, and businesses need and a postal plan that would enable this American institution to do what it needs to do to grow and get back to financial health.\r\n\r\n\u00a0\r\nNext stop, I visited the WBOC studios. During my time with the news team, I had the opportunity to discuss some of the\u00a0challenges facing our homeland,\u00a0including the threat of the terrorist extremists abroad and Ebola in West Africa.
