{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["https://www.casey.senate.gov/newsroom/releases/at-hearing-casey-secures-commitment-from-irs-nominee-to-quickly-address-aca-volunteer-firefighters-issue-", "At Hearing Casey Secures Commitment from IRS Nominee to Quickly Address ACA, Volunteer Firefighters Issue", "2013-12-11", "2013", "2013-12", "Democrat", "House", "PA", "Bob Casey", "C001070", "www.casey.senate.gov", null, null, "legacy", "Washington DC- Today, U.S. \u00a0Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) announced that he has secured a commitment from John Andrew Koskinen, nominee to be the next Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Commissioner, that concerns raised by volunteer firefighters about Affordable Care Act (ACA) requirements will be quickly addressed.\r\n\u201cPennsylvania has a long and proud tradition of volunteer firefighters and I\u2019m pleased that the likely next head of the IRS has committed to addressing this issue,\u201d Senator Casey said. \u201cOur volunteer firefighters make tremendous sacrifices on our behalf and I believe it\u2019s critical that IRS quickly clear up this confusion over the Affordable Care Act.\u201d\r\nSome fire companies with over 50 volunteer firefighters have raised concerns about whether they are required to provide health insurance for\u00a0these volunteers under the ACA.\u00a0 With already tight budgets, many volunteer fire companies were worried about the uncertainty of additional costs.\r\nAs a member of the Finance Committee, Senator Casey has oversight over the IRS and the Committee is charged with confirming its next Commissioner. During today\u2019s confirmation hearing Casey secured a commitment from the nominee to address this issue on behalf of Pennsylvania\u2019s volunteer firefighters.
