This isabhorrentand deeply unfair for families in our states of New Hampshire, Louisiana, and Colorado, and across the country. Back in 2019, we teamed up across the aisle and with our colleagues in the House of Representatives to find a solution to end the practice of surprise medical bills. Today's agreement is a big step forward andreflects much of our work in theSTOP Act. Wewill continue working together to get a bill passed into law this year to address this critical issue facingpatients andour constituents.\r\nSenators Cassidy, Hassan and Bennet have led efforts to address surprise medical bills. Senators Cassidy and Hassan worked for months with members from both parties to craft theSTOP Surprise Medical Bills Actto end this practice.
