As Chairman of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, Cassidy highlighted the recently passed bipartisan Patients Deserve Price Tags Act, which gives patients and employers greater transparency into health care costs. Cassidy also warned that the clock is ticking for Congress to address Social Security\u2019s looming insolvency, stressing that delaying action will only make the issue more difficult and expensive to solve.\n\n\u201cHealth care is one of the few things in which you don\u2019t know how much it\u2019s going to cost when you walk in the door,\u201dsaid Dr. Cassidy. \u201cOur Patients Deserve Price Tags Act will do that for the patient. And it\u2019ll do it in a way which prevents a lot of the arbitrage to maximize profits for intermediaries, but to maximize savings for the patient, the employer, and the employee.\u201d\n\n\u201cThe window is closing, closing, closing,\u201d said Dr. Cassidy. \u201cBut the longer you wait to fix Social Security, the worse it gets. And it doesn\u2019t just get worse marginally.
